Conversations At The Dinner Table With My Sisters

What I Wore And Did With My Sisters This Week
This past week has been a whirlwind, to say the least! I don't know why August is starting with a bang but I say "bring it" because this gal is ready for the madness that is to come! Ha! Anyways, this week I made a little bit of time for just me and my sisters. Like I said before, school is starting back up and I'll be dancing again soon, which means none of us will have time to do all of the fun things that we have been doing all summer as much as we would like to. It's kind of sad but hey, welcome to adulthood! Ha!

Anyways, we decided that we wanted to have a little date at our favorite burger place. I'm not too crazy about burgers BUT I only like them at two places and this is one of them! So I guess you could say I was pretty happy about our decision to hang out! The weather has been pretty hot out and we wanted to be somewhere on the inside and so a quiet little place to eat was at the very top of our list. I know Texans bond over food like crazy but as a faithful Louisianan, I can say we can bond over a meal harder than anyone in the entire world. The week could have been the worst one on the planet but as long as mama cooked at the end of the day then everything always felt like it would be alright! For some reason, that's what today reminded me of; super nostalgic and full of fun moments to remember.

Of course, this dinner date wasn't complete without the little talks that happened at the table. I am almost certain that there isn't anyone funnier than a 6-year-old! Their thoughts on life are wild, imaginative and full of energy! She had so many stories from her kindergarten experience that I couldn't imagine little children having such conversations! "Oh, what'd I'd give to go back to a simpler time in life! Anyways, the one thing she misses is her teacher and all of her friends from the previous school year. We tried to help her understand that she was going to have a brand new teacher for the first grade but she just doesn't get it yet. I'm not sure if the first day of school is going to be a meltdown or if she will embrace the changes but we shall see in a few weeks!

Ps: Moriah has come to the conclusion that she loves fries so very much because they are salty and "salt" is her favorite flavor at the moment. She also says that the strawberry shake is the most amazing drink that she has ever had and wishes that she could have it every single day of her life!

Also, in other conversations, this one is going to the 11th grade! I honestly can't believe it! Yesterday we were watching some of her baby videos and it just reminded me of how much of a crybaby she was! I swear she cried every day up until about the age of ten! It's hard to believe that she's halfway through this high school life and has somehow become taller than me! I just need time to slow down a little bit!!
Conversations At The Dinner Table With My Sisters
Even with all of the reminiscing that we experienced at the dinner table today, I realize that we still have quite a few milestones ahead of us! Life is moving full speed ahead but it's moments like these that I love to capture and remember. Sitting around the table watching everyone discuss their life goals makes me happy because that means everyone is on the right track. I always tell my sisters that time is precious and to never waste it on things that don't make you happy! It looks like they have taken my advice on that one aspect of life and I am pretty proud of them for it. #bigsissyknowsall

What I Wore
Welp, before I end this post I guess I'll share my little outfit of the day! I wanted to be comfortable and casual so I opted to wear my pinstripe pants and a basic black body suit! I paired it with a denim cropped jacket because I knew it would be a bit chilly in the building. I have always been one of those girls that no matter how hot it is, I still have moments where I will feel really cold, which is why I always have a little jacket around me at all times. Ps: I also wore the pants because I knew I was going to leave out of that place with a massive food baby and I needed to be prepared for my expanding tummy!

And of course, I had to pair this outfit with my favorite baby doll shoes! I know I have been wearing these a lot BUT they are my summer/fall go-to's at the moment and they make any outfit look super cute. I also love them because they are very comfortable and we all know "ain't nobody got time for shoes that make your feet hurt" this summer. Anyways, that's the only little update I have for now! See you guys tomorrow! Happy Friday!

Best,
Carey
